Home Prices Increased In July: Report

Home prices continued their steady climb upward in July, according to data released Monday from Black Knight.

The Jacksonville, Fla.-based firm said that its national home price index rose 0.2% from the previous month. On a year-over year basis, average prices increased by 5.1%.

Strong market performance in Midwestern states boosted the national average, as prices in Michigan and Ohio jumped by 0.9% and 0.6%, respectively.

Average prices across the country remain 10.2% below their peak in 2006.
