Westcor Land Title Insurance in Maitland, Fla., has opened its first New York office as it looks to expand in the market for commercial underwriting.
Westcor hired two executives to lead the New York office. The company hired Jason Gordon from Fidelity National Title Insurance, where he was counsel in its commercial office in New York. Westcor also hired Carmel Caramagna from Houston Casualty, where she was in charge of the firm's title reinsurance program.
Westcor's business has been primarily in underwriting residential transactions, though it has done some commercial deals. The New York office is its first location dedicated to just commercial real estate transactions.
