Trulia has named Issi Romem as its new chief economist.

Romem is currently a fellow at the Terner Center for Housing Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, where he also taught as an adjunct professor of economics.

Before Trulia, he served as the chief economist at BuildZoom for more than four years, leading research around metropolitan growth patterns, housing and construction trends.

Atlantic Home Mortgage has brought on Naveed Bhurgri as a partner.

Bhurgri began his career as a mortgage adviser in 2003 and moved to a management role shortly after.

In 2006, he founded Bluestone Capital Group, a boutique mortgage brokerage.

Blue Water Financial Technologies has hired Travis LaMar as managing director, head of capital markets.

Prior to joining Blue Water, he ran mortgage secondary markets for Bank of Oklahoma following his role as a managing director at Incenter.

Earlier in his career, LaMar held senior trading roles at US Bank and GMAC-RFC.

WFG National Title Insurance Co. has named Jessica Figueroa senior national underwriting counsel for its commercial division based in New York.

Prior to joining WFG, she served as a national commercial underwriter at Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Co.

Prior to that, Figueroa also held underwriting positions at TitleVest Agency and First American Title Insurance Co.

Sagent Lending Technologies has appointed Matthew Tully to its executive leadership team as vice president of agency affairs and compliance.

Tully, who previously served with Essent Guaranty, brings to the company 15 years of government compliance and industry relations experience to this new role.
