WASHINGTON

Verus Mortgage Capital named Jeff Schaefer executive vice president, head of national sales.

Also joining the Verus mortgage correspondent sales team are Joel Veenstra and Andy Wideman, each serving as vice president of correspondent sales.

Schaefer has over 25 years of mortgage sales industry experience across multiple channels.

Prior to joining Verus, he served as executive vice president of national sales at FirstKey Mortgage, as well as senior leadership roles at Pacific Union Financial, MetLife and Aurora Loan Services.

Prior to joining Verus, Veenstra was vice president of correspondent sales at FirstKey Holdings.

Wideman joins from Title Source Inc. where he was a senior vice president, national sales.

WASHINGTON

The National Community Stabilization Trust named Robert Grossinger the new president of the organization, effective immediately.

Grossinger succeeds Craig Nickerson, who joined the nonprofit intermediary at its founding at the onset of the 2008 housing crisis.

As president, Grossinger's priority will be to continue to move the organization's housing strategies forward, while increasing its focus on markets that are still struggling to see a housing and economic recovery.

He joins NCST from Enterprise Community Partners, where he was vice president.

Prior to his role at Enterprise, Grossinger served as senior vice president in the corporate social responsibility group at Bank of America, focused on the bank's neighborhood stabilization efforts.

GEORGIA

ATLANTA

Ocwen Financial Corp. appointed Alan Bowers as a new independent director to its board of directors.

His appointment expands the board to eight directors, seven of whom are independent directors.

Bowers has no prior affiliation with Ocwen, its board members, management or employees.

He brings over 30 years of experience in accounting and executive management to Ocwen's board, including experience on the audit committees of private and public companies.

DALLAS

PrimeLending hired Kim Harland as area manager for Arizona and New Mexico.

Harland brings 34 years of mortgage industry experience to PrimeLending.

She previously worked at Nova Home Loans as a vice president and branch manager.

PLANO

MCS Valuation named Rebecca English assistant vice president of operations

Based in Sandy, Utah, English will help oversee the company's valuation operations.

She previously led several key client account teams while serving as director of business operations for CoreLogic Inc., which was acquired by MCSV in 2014.

Prior to joining CoreLogic in 2006, English was the assistant vice president of default and REO at Boston Federal Savings Bank in Massachusetts.

VIRGINIA

Capital One Financial Corp. said that Desmond Smith has joined the company as head of sales for Capital One Home Loans.

Smith joins Capital One from Citibank in New York where he served as managing director responsible for all originations across channels including distributed retail, direct to consumer, relationship retail, strategic markets and correspondent lending.

Prior to joining Citigroup, he was senior vice president of national retail sales at JPMorgan Chase Bank.
