ReverseVision Launches Online, Continuing Education Classes

ReverseVision, a reverse mortgage software company in San Diego, on Thursday launched an online education platform aimed at teaching lending professionals about reverse mortgages.

RV University features a two-hour class on the fundamentals of reverse mortgages. It also includes coursework that loan officers can use to obtain a certified reverse mortgage professional license, or earn credits through Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System.

The company described the product in a press release as a replacement for in-person workshops, as well as a way to "avoid any training-related issues that may arise" from an audit by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

"RVU will replace the need for in-house HECM-specific training for both new and experienced staff," said Rachel Smith, a product manager at ReverseVision, referring to the federally insured Home Equity Conversion Mortgage program.

The online platform is self-paced and available on the ReverseVision website.
