SharperLending, which runs a platform where lenders order settlement services from vendors, now offers employment and income verifications through The Work Number, a database maintained by Equifax's Workforce Solutions unit.
The Work Number has more than 241 million employer-direct payroll records. The partnership was motivated by the current shift from a refinance market to a purchase market, which has created a renewed emphasis on reliability and accuracy in verifying a borrower's information, SharperLending, of Spokane, Wash., said in a press release Thursday.
It follows an earlier collaboration with Atlanta-based Equifax, which has been offering SharperLending’s lender clients mortgage fraud identification and prevention capabilities.
The latest integration gives lender clients "a tool that will help them increase pipeline production by rapidly delivering accurate data," said Dave Black, president and chief executive officer of SharperLending.
