AllRegs has created an online fraud prevention security resource that allows businesses to verify a customer’s identification during a transaction.
Dan Thoms, executive vice president of AllRegs, Eagan, Minn., said the AllRegs ID Card Database is the first electronic database available that has the ability to determine the validity of an individual’s identity documents.
The database contains card images and details of the most actively used driver’s licenses from all 50 states, military IDs and passports. For each ID card, a company can access what the card looks like with illustrated details of security features, layouts and other discerning information that confirms the authenticity of the identification card.
By using the database, a business can reduce penalties and fees for cashing checks to fraudsters, reduce lost profit from fraudulent transactions, including anti-money laundering and follow who is at their website and if these people are good guys or fraudsters.
The identification card database can be used by any security professional that has an Internet connection in order to identify fraudulent identities. Thoms recommends that credit issuers, title companies, police officers, military officers, airport security, department of motor vehicles, alcohol beverage control, bank tellers, and gaming and casino professionals use the database.
Database subscribers are also encouraged to complete training on how to identify fraudulent documents, which is offered by the company. Subscriptions for the database costs $625 a year, allowing all personnel at a company access to the Web-based system.
“Our database includes graphics, details and security features. It should be utilized by any organization checking IDs for identity verification, check cashing, financial transactions and other security checks,” Thoms said.
