AmeriVest Properties, Denver, has filed a universal shelf registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission that would permit the offering of up to $200 million of AmeriVest securities.The securities could be either preferred stock or common stock, the company said. The registration statement has not yet been declared effective by the SEC. AmeriVest acquires and operates office buildings, mainly in the Denver, Phoenix, Dallas, and Indianapolis markets.
