“Our report concludes improvements among home price growth and sales performance, but also sees foreclosures worsening compared to November,” said Gordon Crawford, Ph.D., vice president of Analytics for DataQuick, in a press release. “Several fiscal uncertainty factors including debt limits, proposed tax increases and spending cuts may lead to further weakening the housing market.”

The company finds home price growth in all 42 reported selected counties it tracks in the latest month, quarter and year and that sales increased in 32 of those counties over the last month. It also finds that there were sales gains in 12 of those counties in the last quarter, and in 38 counties over the last year.

However, its numbers also show that foreclosures increased in 26 counties in the last month, as well as in 27 counties over the last quarter and in 21 counties over the last year.

The counties DataQuick tracks are in located in 20 states.
