Date Keynoting Regulatory Symposium

Raj Date, who replaced Elizabeth Warren as acting head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is the keynote speaker at the National Mortgage News Mortgage Regulatory Symposium to be held in Washington on Sept. 20.

Date is a former banker who has worked at Deutsche Bank Securities and Capital One Financial Corp.

Also speaking at the conference are Martin Gruenberg, acting chairman of the FDIC; John Walsh, acting Comptroller of the Currency; Thomas Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City; Rep. Barney Frank D.-Mass., ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee; Sen. Jack Reed D.-R.I., chairman of the Senate Banking Subcommittee; and Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R.-W.Va., who serves on the house financial services committee.

Industry participants at the conference include: F. Thomas Eck, associate general counsel, fair and responsible lending at Capital One; Rose Mancini, senior vice president and deputy general counsel at HSBC North America; Kristen Thomas, vice president and assistant general counsel at American Home Mortgage Servicing Inc.; and Gale Blackstock, senior vice president and fair lending manager at BBVA Compass.
