Economists Expect Slowing Originations, Sales

The consensus of major industry economists who participated in a Jan. 8 Homeownership Alliance conference call seemed to be that lenders and builders are likely to see a slight slowdown in the origination and housing markets this year and a slight increase in mortgage rates.The chief economists from the National Association of Home Builders, the National Association of Realtors, the Independent Community Bankers of America, Freddie Mac, and Fannie Mae participated in the call.
