After 20 years at the helm of the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York, Alfred DelliBovi is preparing to step down now that his successor has been chosen.
DelliBovi was deputy secretary of HUD (1989-92) before he joined the New York FHLB. A native New Yorker and natural politician, he was elected to four terms in the New York State Assembly.
His successor, Jose Ramon Gonzalez, has served on the board of directors since 2004 and he joined the management team on Tuesday as the executive vice president. He previously was senior executive vice president at OFG Bancorp (formerly Oriental Financial Group).
“I am delighted that Jose will be taking a leadership role on our team,” said
DelliBovi has not revealed when he plans to retire.
