InCharge Debt Solutions has partnered up with Freddie Mac to open a resource center that provides educational and information assistance to struggling homeowners with Freddie Mac-owned mortgages to help them stay in their homes.
The InCharge Debt Solutions/Freddie Mac Borrower Help Network will provide sessions in which counselors will review a homeowner’s current income, living expenses, savings and debts in order to help them understand their options and determine the best possible solutions to their financial challenges.
Additionally, counselors will assess the options a borrower has to avoid foreclosure, which could include a loan modification available under the federal Making Home Affordable program or another borrower assistance program.
The counseling can be done either in person or on the telephone.
“If you are behind on your monthly bills, including your mortgage, our partnership will offer Freddie Mac clients free, confidential financial counseling assistance through our HUD-approved agency and certified counselors,” said Billie Passmore, InCharge’s director of housing outreach.
“The knowledge you will receive could be the difference between losing your home and saving your future.”
