Fortress Investment Group LLC, New York, has announced that Thomas J. Saylak, a managing partner, has decided to withdraw from the firm based on a company decision not to raise an independent real estate investment fund.Mr. Saylak said he joined Fortress earlier this year "to expand my work across asset classes, provided we could create a dedicated platform for real estate investing. As we started talking to Fortress's current investors this summer, we realized that a new fund would have to operate under too narrow an investment mandate."
