Freddie Mac has announced that it will release quarterly and year-end financial results for 2005 after the stock market closes on Tuesday, May 30.The company also scheduled a conference call to discuss results for 5 p.m. that day. The company had released results for the first two quarters of 2005 last year, but revealed a new accounting problem last November that required a downward revision of first- and second-quarter earnings. The data to be released on Tuesday represent the formal financial statement for 2005 and will include the revisions pertaining to the first two quarters of last year, a spokesman said. All the materials will be available on Freddie's website before the call. Freddie Mac says it hopes to return to timely quarterly reporting with the release of full-year 2006 results early next year.
