Housing Starts Jump in Canada

Despite expectations that housing starts in Canada will slow overall this year, their seasonally adjusted annual rate jumped in January from 212,600 to 249,300, according to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp.A surge in the "volatile" multifamily starts drove the increase, according to CMHC chief economist Bob Dugan.
