Jobs Report Drives Market Up on Friday

The jobs data helped the Dow Jones Industrial Average and most members of the Mortgage Industry Equity Composite end the week on a high note.

The DJIA was up 147 points and crossed back above the 15,000 threshold on Friday. At the same time, 13 of the 17 MIEC stocks closed higher than they did in the abbreviated session on Wednesday.

Leading the way was PHH, up 5.02%. Next was OceanFirst Financial, up 3.58%, and Dime Community, up 3.02%.

The four stocks in the down column were led by KB Home, down 3.42%. PennyMac was next, down 1.83; followed by Home Loan Servicing Solutions, down 1.11%; and Redwood Trust, down 0.94%.
