Lender Processing Services Inc.’s CEO and president Jeffrey S. Carbiener, is stepping down, effective immediately, for what the company said are significant health-related reasons.

LPS’s executive chairman of the board and former CEO, Lee A. Kennedy, is temporarily taking on Carbiener’s responsibilities.
The board said it has established a committee to search for a permanent replacement.
Carbiener has agreed to continue to serve in an advisory capacity to Kennedy and the board, according to the company.
