An S&P announcement said he was leaving to pursue other interests.

Adelson was most recently a research fellow at S&P, but he also served as S&P’s chief credit officer between May 2008 and December 2011.

Prior to joining S&P, Adelson was one of the first researchers to warn of inordinate MBS and collateralized debt obligation risks that the 2005-2007 vintages later became notorious for.

In addition to working as a researcher for S&P, Adelson in the past has worked as a researcher for Nomura Securities and Moody’s Investors Service. He also currently is a lawyer admitted to practice in New York, according to his website.
