MERSCORP, Inc. has added a new certified vendor of digital certificates for identification and signatures to its website.
MERS this week agreed to make the Operational Research Consultants, Inc. solution available to MERS eRegistry members after testing and approving its credentials.
A company executive told this publication that while ORC does not have a direct agreement with MERS, its software "has been accepted and posted on the MERS website."
The deal means individual mortgage companies can conduct actual correspondence and financial transactions with ORC through MERS. Its primary goal is to help eliminate financial and identity fraud in the commercial marketplace.
The Washington-based subsidiary of the WidePoint Corporation may be new to the MERS system, but it has been a federal government approved vendor since 1999.
As a wireless mobility management and cybersecurity solutions specialist it will provide added security features to the electronic transmission of mortgage records, contracts and documents.
