Mortgage Insurers, Builder, Fared Best Among Stocks Thursday

A builder and some mortgage insurers were among the companies on this publication’s Mortgage Industry Equity Composite that fared well in terms of how their stocks traded during the standard business day on Thursday.

Mortgage insurer MGIC led percentage gains on the day with a 3.28% increase at $7.24 per share, followed by builder Kaufman and Broad, which was up 2.81% at $17.20 per share, and another mortgage insurer, Radian, which was up 2.27% at $13.18 per share.

Almost all MIEC stocks generated some sort of gain on the day. Many MIEC stock gains outperformed the Dow, which ended the day up 0.44%.

The exception was technology provider Ellie Mae which experienced a 3.71% decline in its stock price at $28.78 per share.
