Most mortgage stocks are following the same market trends that have pushing the Dow Jones Industrial Average down by an average of 200 points this morning.
At noon mortgage insurers PMI and Radian were seeing the biggest drops with stocks trading at 8.62% and 8.72% less, respectively.
The next worst performers of the day were B of A whose stock price decreased by 7.96%, and Flagstar Bank, whose stock dropped by 8.81%.
Penny Mac's stock dropped a mere 0.27%.
The lone gainer among mortgage companies was Impac Mortgage Holdings with stock trading at 0.27% more, apparently reflecting its improved second quarter earnings reported earlier today.
Fannie and Freddie stocks also were trading for less at 2.93% and 3.94% as Congress debates legislation expected to address the negative role of the GSEs in the collapse of the housing market.
