Most MIEC Stocks Increase Monday, with Two Exceptions

Fifteen stocks in this publication’s Mortgage Industry Equity Composite increased by as much as 7% Monday, but two companies’ shares lost roughly less than 1% of their value.

KB Home fared best among industry stocks followed by Radian, which had more than a 4% increase in value, according to Yahoo Finance. Ellie Mae and OceanFirst Financial Corp. were the two stocks that experienced slight declines in value. The Dow ended the day up less than 1%.

A $100 investment in MIEC stocks on Jan. 1, 1998 based on week-to-week gains as of Monday would be worth almost $39, according to this publication’s MortgageStats subsidiary. The index’s general trend has been stable to slightly higher this year but it was a little lower Monday.
