The Mortgage Bankers Association has chosen Charmaine Brown to fill its newly created position of director of diversity and inclusion.

Brown, who will start on Jan. 4, 2021, will be responsible for developing, promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion programs for the real estate finance industry.

Most recently, she served as chief equity officer for Charles County, Md., and prior to that post, she worked in various roles at Fannie Mae for over 20 years.

LenderClose has hired Kaustubh Apte as product manager and Logan Keehner as product marketing manager.

Apte joins LenderClose from John Deere Financial in Johnston, Iowa, where he served as global product manager. Earlier roles include senior manager of retail banking for HDFC and regional business manager for Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Co.

Most recently, Keehner held a project manager position at Two Rivers Marketing in Des Moines. Prior to that, he guided the creative team at Wunderman.

PMI Rate Pro has hired Eric Low as vice president of information technology.

Low brings to PMI Rate Pro more than 20 years of experience in financial services and mortgage insurance.

He previously served as vice president, e-business and software development at National Mortgage Insurance Corp. and as director of technology product management at PMI Mortgage Insurance Co.

Lodasoft said that Mark Ramirez has joined the company as head of product.

He brings to the firm more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry previously served as director of software engineering for loanDepot.

Before joining loanDepot, Ramirez built and sold a pricing engine company, Priceweaver.

Arbor Realty Trust Inc. has appointed Malvina Iannone executive vice president, general counsel.

She assumes the role from John Bishar, who will now serve as senior counsel for a transitional period of time, while continuing as Arbor’s corporate secretary for the board of directors.

Prior to joining Arbor, Iannone served as executive counsel, global legal shares services with General Electric Co. Before that, she practiced M&A and securities law at White & Case LLP.
