Shelley Metz-Galloway has joined global consulting firm Protiviti as a managing director in its risk and compliance practice.

She recently served as a managing director and leader of the regulatory compliance, fair lending and technology practice at Treliant Risk Advisors.

Metz-Galloway has also served with Wells Fargo & Co., Fannie Mae and Aetna Life & Casualty.

Element Funding, a division of Primary Residential Mortgage Inc., has hired Steve Svirsky and Bart Leereveld as loan officers.

Svirsky comes to Element Funding with over 30 years of experience in the financial industry.

Previously, he worked at BankUnited, SunTrust and Freedom Mortgage.

Leereveld joined Svirsky at BankUnited and then moved with him to SunTrust and Freedom Mortgage before joining Element Funding.

MICHIGAN

Quicken Loans has hired Casey Hurbis as its new chief marketing officer.

Hurbis will lead Quicken Loans' consumer-facing marketing team and will be responsible for all online and traditional marketing initiatives.

Most recently, he led North American brand communications and advertising at Fiat where he reintroduced the Fiat brand to the U.S. market after more than a quarter century of absence.

Alterra Home Loans said that Tom Middleton has joined the company as senior vice president of business development and national expansion.

In his new role, Middleton will lead the national effort to recruit new branches and continue the company's organic expansion into new and existing markets.

He was previously vice president of talent acquisition and business development for On Q Financial Inc.

Accumatch has hired Lisa Barlag to serve as tax examiner manager for the company.

Barlag, an industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, previously served with CoreLogic.

Earlier in her career, she held the roles of operations manager, international operations manager and trainer with First American Financial Corp.

SAN ANTONIO

SWBC Mortgage Corp. has promoted Elizabeth Sumi to regional vice president.

Sumi, who has 17 years of experience in the mortgage industry, joined SWBC Mortgage in 2016 as vice president of business development.

She has also served with Freedom Mortgage Corp., Movement Mortgage and JPMorgan Chase.

First Technology Federal Credit Union has promoted Alex de la Cruz to senior vice president, head of retail.

Previously, de la Cruz, who joined First Tech in 2014, served as its vice president of member experience.

He brings more than 15 years of management experience in the private, public and nonprofit realms.

Before that, he served as First Tech's regional director for the Washington, Idaho and Colorado region.
