Docutech has named Adam Stern as its new chief product officer.

Bringing more than a decade of mortgage experience to Docutech, he most recently served as chief information officer at NewRez.

Prior to NewRez, Stern served as senior vice president of analytics at Prospect Mortgage.

Florida

Palm Harbor

Amy McCarthy has joined Nationwide Title Clearing as vice president of business development for capital markets.

She previously served at Grant Thornton, Credit Suisse, Nomura Securities, Bank of America and the CFPB.

Nationwide Title Clearing also said that former Fannie Mae executive Robin Belanger has joined the firm as vice president, where she will focus on enhancing its document certification, custody and capital markets offerings.

Akerman LLP said that Anne Marie Garavaglia and Kinan Obeidin have joined its real estate finance practice in Atlanta.

Garavaglia and Obeidin join Akerman from Nelson Mullins LLP, where they led practices representing institutional lenders, REITs and equity partners in the negotiation and closing of complex structured finance transactions.

Garavaglia focuses her practice on real estate capital markets, securitizations, financial services, structured and commercial finance, loan portfolio management/servicing and loan originations.

Obeidin focuses his practice on real estate finance, real estate capital markets, structured finance, and financial services.

Massachusetts

The MIT Sloan School of Management has appointed Edward Golding as executive director and senior lecturer at the MIT Golub Center for Finance and Policy.

Golding, a former head of the Federal Housing Administration, will help lead the GCFP in its mission to support governments in their role as financial institutions and regulators of the financial system.

Prior to serving as the head of the Federal Housing Administration from 2015-2017, he was a senior advisor in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Golding was also an executive at Freddie Mac from 1989-2012, where he headed model development, strategy and investor relations.

Pittsburgh

Mortgage Connect has appointed Brian Frye to the role of executive vice president, capital markets.

Frye, with a 15-year career as a senior mortgage banking and capital markets executive, most recently held the role of senior vice president at Solidifi Title, where he established the firm's capital Market division.

He was also a principal and co-founder of AMRE Solutions, a mortgage default services company.
