Property Preservation Firm Launches New Website

Real estate owned property preservation firm Mortgage Contracting Services launched a new version of its website, adding dedicated resource pages to the various REO industry players it works for and with.

From the MCS website, users can navigate to individual pages with resources and information from servicers, vendors, brokers, code compliance officers and attorneys. Each portal corresponds with a different segment of the REO industry that MCS works with.

The individual portals vary in what each offers, including access to the MCS Web-based vendor and real estate broker management platforms, links to pertinent government agencies and industry groups.

MCS services include REO property maintenance, preservation, inspection and valuation work for default management departments of servicers, conducted by the Tampa, Fla.-based firm’s network of vendors and brokers.

In response to overwhelming REO inventory, municipal governments have enacted various legislation to regulate how vacant properties are managed. The large network of various laws can be a maze for many in the REO space, as new requirements are being enacted regularly. A feature in the code compliance portal is an interactive map of property preservation legislation. Click on a state, and a list of local code enforcement regulations pops up.
