Frederick L. Fellows has announced the establishment of Basalt Capital LLC, a Chicago-based investment management company specializing in commercial real estate debt securities. Basalt currently manages commercial mortgage-backed security investments for a related investment partnership and has launched a $500 million high-yield CMBS-oriented investment fund.
