The delinquent loan inventory at Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. fell by less than 1,000 loans during June, according to data released by the company.
There were 154,973 loans in the inventory at the start of the month, and MGIC received 11,200 new notices of delinquency in June.
But, 8,114 loans cured during the month, with another 3,981 loans having the claim paid. There were only 88 rescissions and denied claims in June.
A footnote to MGIC's release said a settlement agreement has been executed with one of its customers and during June it reversed certain rescissions.
During the month, MGIC had $2.2 billion of new insurance written, up from $2 billion in May. For the entire second quarter in 2011, MGIC had NIW of $3.1 billion.
Separately, the company announced there is now seamless access from Byte Software's BytePro loan origination system to MGIC's online ordering platform called the Loan Center.
The interface is available in both versions of BytePro—Standard and Enterprise.
Debbie Ingle, Byte's manager of national sales and client services, said, "Our objective is to provide a comprehensive, powerful and compliant LOS to help our customers improve loan quality and increase productivity. This interface eliminates additional keystrokes and reduces the potential for input errors by giving users a straightforward process for populating MGIC's Loan Center with information contained inside BytePro."
