Tonnesen has been named president and chief executive officer of Triad Guaranty Inc., Winston-Salem, N.C., and its subsidiary, Triad Guaranty Insurance Corp., succeeding company founder Darryl W. Thompson, who is retiring.Triad said Mr. Tonnesen was most recently vice chairman and chief financial officer of RBC Insurance, a unit of Toronto-based Royal Bank of Canada. He has more than 20 years of management experience in the financial services industry. Mr. Thompson has been president of Triad since founding the company in 1987.
