Dallas-based MRG Document Technologies recently sent staff to Wisconsin to educate members of the Credit Union Real Estate Network about the implications of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.

The act has wide-ranging effects on credit union lending and three MRG executives spoke to the group about the regulations and cost-effective methods of compliance throughout the mortgage origination process.

In early February, valuation technology provider Veros will host a free webinar to help real estate and mortgage professionals navigate the new regulations for collateral valuation and appraisal delivery and how technology can meet those objectives.

Veros said the webinar will provide information on how collateral valuation practices are impacted by new and upcoming regulations and procedures.

The educational sessions don’t just provide expert resources to mortgage professionals. They also serve in raising brand awareness of vendors and give them the opportunity to connect with potential customers.

Throughout December, a group of technology vendors hosted a four-part webinar series, including valuation and interest rate risk management technology provider Compass Analytics, mortgage workflow software provider Del Mar DataTrac, product and pricing engine developer LoanSifter, and compliance and risk management firm Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, along with the Weiner Brodsky Sidman Kider PC law firm.

The series broke down major compliance issues in Dodd-Frank, explaining the implications of sweeping financial reform to mortgage lenders, bankers, brokers and other industry participants. The companies sponsoring the series said thousands of people registered for the free events. Even now, the webinars and answers to participants questions are available online as a resource to the public.
