Walker & Dunlop Opens FHA Healthcare Lending Office in Nashville

Walker & Dunlop Inc., a commercial mortgage banker, has opened an office in Nashville, which will focus on multifamily and healthcare loan originations through the Federal Housing Administration insurance program.

David T. Strange was hired as vice president, FHA finance to run this new office.

Most recently, Strange worked for Deutsche Bank Berkshire Mortgage Inc. as an FHA originator in the Brentwood, Tenn. office. During his five years with that company, he established the FHA Section 242 Hospital Insurance lending program in that office. He is also a former mortgage consultant for SunTrust Mortgage.

Michelle Warner, Walker & Dunlop's group head of FHA Finance stated, "We are very pleased to have the collective talent and experience these new employees bring to the Company. Over the past several months we have added significant underwriting and closing resources to Walker & Dunlop's FHA group. David's origination capabilities, coupled with the knowledge and experience of the analysts and underwriters who will support him, will further enhance Walker & Dunlop's standing as a first in class FHA lender."

The Bethesda, Md.-based company's executive vice president and chief operating officer Howard Smith added the opening of this office is another step in its strategic plan to add origination talent around the country in an effort to grow revenues and broaden market reach.
