Washington Trust hired Timothy Pickering as senior vice president of commercial real estate lending.

Pickering will be responsible for identifying commercial real estate mortgages in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y.

Prior to joining Washington Trust, Westerly, R.I., he served as senior vice president of commercial real estate for Citizens Bank in Middletown, Conn., for the past 15 years.

Pickering also has more than 12 years of commercial real estate lending experience with BankBoston, Citytrust and the Irving Trust Co.
