Wells Fargo Adds Mortgage Tools to Mobile Apps

Wells Fargo released an update to its mobile applications to give borrowers the ability to manage their mortgage accounts from their mobile devices.

With the new features, borrowers can view account activity details for their mortgage accounts. Borrowers who also have bank accounts with Wells Fargo can make intrabank transfers to pay mortgage accounts, including payments for principal, escrow and fees.

Bank transfers between banking and mortgage accounts have been available on Wells Fargo’s website for desktop computers. In addition, mortgage borrowers have been able to use the bill-pay tool on the mobile apps to make a mortgage payment.

The update was released Wednesday for the bank’s iPhone app on the Apple App Store and its app for mobile devices that run on the Android mobile operating system, which are available on the Google Play and Amazon Appstore for Android.

Wells Fargo also has a dedicated iPad app that is expected to include the new mortgage features in a separate update.
