Yard or garage sales are a common feature of a normal spring/summer season in my neighborhood. So most of the time I tend to not to give a second look to the fliers posted throughout the area.
But one sign I saw this weekend made me take a second glance because of the tag line. Besides the usual listing of what items were available, the sign said get a free cup of coffee with every purchase.
It is not a new marketing technique to give an extra with a sale, but in this context it is a highly unusual one. And, by the way, I hope you are giving your customers a free cup of coffee (or other non-alcoholic beverage) when they come in to discuss their application.
The key point here is the unexpected extra that got me to at least take a second look. Admittedly it did not turn me into a buyer, but it did get me to consider it. And getting people to consider using your services is the first step.
So think about what unexpected extra you can use in your marketing to get potential clients to take a second look at it.
