I hope you have been enjoying these Loan Officer Formula Marketing Tips so far and taking notes. For many years, I just floundered around and hoped success would come. I was very frustrated and even worse, I was pretty broke. When I took a vacation, which was not often, I would only go away for 2 days max. I didn't think I could afford to lose any business or even worse, relationships. You know how Realtors are. If they don't get you on the phone, they just call the next guy or gal or talk to the inhouse person.
My life was just really awful. I wanted to make money. I wanted freedom. I wanted to be able to go to my kids' games or even back to school at night. But I couldn't and didn't. I rationalized all of this by saying that even though I wasn't spending any time with them I was at least making money so they could have nice things. In reality, business was so bad that I wasn't able to do that either. At night, I would come home grumpy, tired and beaten up from working since 7 a.m. that morning. The weekends weren't all that different. I worked Saturday and Sundays since that's when the buyers were out. LIFE SUCKED! But ,what could I do with my resume? Not much I thought. I just assumed that was my fate and I would have to deal with it accordingly. MAN WAS I EVER WRONG!
You might be going through the same thing. I know when things were tough I worked harder just to stay even. I assumed that your business needs dictated how you would have to live your personal life. PLEASE RE-READ THAT! Let it sink in. I assumed that my personal life, vacations, time spent with my wife and kids, schools they went to etc., were all based on my business life, until I made a BIG DISCOVERY.
