Before we continue our discussion about the books I read, let me go over the four areas you should be looking to cover in your reading:
1. Your mindset
2. Salesmanship
3. Persuasion
4. Generally accepted success principles.
Last week I told you to go out and grab a copy of "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. Hope you did that? If not, visit
I also mentioned at the end of that article that there is some danger in reading that book so let me explain. The book instructs you to think positively and you will get a great outcome. Not to minimize this book. It has many other tested and proven success ideas that all wealthy people employ.
But the concept of just thinking and getting rich is a dangerous one. See, you know yourself that you can't just think and get rich. You actually have to go do something.
I love the book and still read it but I was always left wondering why some still didn't succeed and why some totally unlikely folks had great success. I searched and searched and then I discovered another great book called "Psycho-Cybernetics" by Dr. Maxwell Maltz, which you must also read and re-read.
As I write this I am now half way through it again and I think this is my 19th time reading it since I first discovered it. It's so important that I give it to all of my high level coaching clients and to all of the clients I do consulting for.
Ever see someone get very successful quickly and then implode. Or how about someone who you know has all the skills and talents but just can't get there. It is sort of like they have a glass ceiling they can't seem to get through.
Well it's all covered in this classic. You can thank me later; go out right now and get your hands on this book and read it!
