It’s been generally assumed that mortgage loan officers working in residential finance today are the best ever when it comes to professionalism and training. (This applies to both depository and nonbank LOs and mortgage brokers.) After all, if you want to work at a nonbank or brokerage firm you need be licensed and tested. Then again, we occasionally hear about some of the “horror stories” of those taking the classes. Of course, maybe these students were just having a bad day. As for commercial bank LOs, the only standards they face are the ones placed upon them by their employer. In some cases, those standards might be tough. But in others…
