I had such a great response to my article over the past few weeks, I'm going to stop writing it now because I picked up 100 new originators and that's enough response right? Yeah, right.

No, I will continue to write my article each week so that I can attract more and more readers to my philosophy of doing business - for my ego of course, but also so that I can have more and more originators sign up for my program(s). I'm actually thinking of expanding and writing a couple more articles per week. I'm not going to settle. Are you?

And that is exactly what you must do. I don't know how many times over even the past few months I have heard an originator tell me that they can stop marketing now. When I ask them, why, they say, well, it worked.

NO, NO, NO. That is not the right way to look at the results you have achieved. First of all, I'll assure you that when you pick up two new referral sources it is because one of your long standing referral sources is just about to get out of the business and the good Lord is just trying to help you out.

Regardless of the success you have marketing, if you are really lucky, it will grow your business a little, but first, it has got to fill in the hole that continues to be dug by your current referral sources leaving.

So, don't quit marketing. If you stop doing the right thing right, at the right time, your business will eventually diminish through attrition.

One of my company's is an online Internet company. We sell books and provide lines of credit, we report to the credit bureaus, for customers to purchase more of our products. The point I want to make is that we have gone through the same thing you are going through today. We had one referral partner produce over 2,000 accounts in the first few months he was with us. But, he quit marketing. He quit growing his list. Now, he will be lucky to do 30 deals this month.

Every business has the same issues. You must understand the Road Map To Success and review the map every day. Doing the right thing right, at the right time, is the only way to maintain forward progress in this business. Just because you are doing enough loans to keep your head above water does not mean that you have met with all of the success available, even in this market.
