No one is a born success. Everyone has his or her ups and downs. I know that I have and have accepted the fact that I will continue to have ups and downs until I die.
Accepting this fact is your first step towards clearing out your mind and taking control of the thought: Why is this happening to me? Happiness never comes from success but so often unhappiness and discontentment comes from a lack of success and uncontrolled thoughts.
From my experience, I am the most happy and content when I have control over my thoughts. And that happens most often when I have determined to do something on purpose and for a purpose. What is your plan and what is your purpose? You must have an overarching purpose and or motivational experience that give you strength. If you have not identified it yet, you must.
But, you might say, I don't know what you are talking about. What motivational event, what purpose? This week I will deal with the motivational event. Next week the article will deal more with purpose. Let me give you my experience.
For me THE motivating event was a frozen Salisbury steak dinner. Week after week my young wife, daughter and I got down to that frozen dinner as the only thing left in the house to eat. I don't know where that dang thing came from. I hate frozen dinners. But there it was, staring me in the face/stomach each week. Fortunately, somehow we would always find a way to stretch a meal for leftovers. But one particular week, it was the frozen dinner or nothing. I remember the day. It was on Thursday at lunch. My wife and I went home for lunch and that is what I had to eat. I'll save you from the gory details of that lunch and the aftermath, but I will tell you that to this day, that stupid frozen dinner motivates me to never ever, and I mean ever, be in that position. EVER.
For some of you, you can derive your strength from negative statements that may have been made to you over the years. Statements like:
You will never amount to anything.
You are stupid and can't get it
You are or you are not...well fill in the blank
Identifying the event/statement/dinner that really hurt you the most is the first step towards finding the strength and power to overcome the greatest obstacles that you face today.
More next week.
By the way, beyond enjoying writing articles that help people overcome their fears and find the inter strength that is within them, I want to make you aware of another reason I write this article. It is to tell you about the benefits of learning how to build a network of referral sources. If you have not committed to building your business, and you are still trying to originate loans on your own, from your own efforts, now is the time to spend a few hours over the weekend to educate yourself on the concept of building an enterprise based on, not only your efforts, but the efforts of referral partners. Agents, builders, and REO platforms control over 70% over the buyers of houses. And over 70% of the time, the buyer uses the services of that originator. Either you can learn to take advantage of this process or you can continue to work by yourself. Make your life easier by learning how to build this type of organization today.
