Be, do, have.

We all spend a lot of time concentrating on the "have" part of this statement.

Have signifies the goals in our life. I would like to have more business. I would like to make more money. I would like to have better relationships.

So, we establish a "to do" list. I'm going to go to an open house. I'm going to charge more per loan. I'm going to buy flowers for my wife.

All the while, in order to have real change, we must concentrate on ourselves, not on the actions that we have heard will get us the "have" part.

You've heard the saying: "If it is to be, it's up to me." Usually that statement is used in conjunction with the do and the have part of the equation. If I do this, I'll have that, etc.

But the real path to increase in every area of our life is to become the person you want to be and then automatically you will do the things you have to do in order to have the things you want to have. You've just got to work on yourself.

Without this in depth training, you will not become all that you can be in the mortgage business and all of the marketing activities you engage will never have the best possible results if you are one of those mortgage "professionals" that just doesn't know that much about the mortgage business.

It's not enough to know that stoves get hot, so, don't touch them. Really, you need to understand why and how stoves get hot. Only then, will you be in a position to appropriately identify other devices that heat up that you may not want to touch either. With both, it takes education.
