Bobby Narang (00:08):
Morning everybody. I'm Bobby Narang, co-founder of Open Sense, and we help mortgage companies turn brand moments into business outcomes. Over the last 12 years, we've earned the opportunity to serve many of you here in this room today, as well as four of the five largest mortgage originators in America, including Guaranteed Rate, CrossCountry Mortgage, and UWM, just to name a few. I could stand up here and tell you that those organizations are using Open Sense simply to mandate NMLS numbers and employee email signatures, but I thought it'd be more fun to think about some of the things that we've been talking about in this room over the last couple of days and contextualize the value proposition of Open Sense with some of those ideas. One of the things that I've heard a lot over the last couple of days is just this intensive investigation and investment into platforms and technologies that are going to increase operational efficiency in the back office.
(01:02):
They're going to mitigate costs, they're going to make us way more productive. We're talking about layering on AI into basically everything to get more out of the business and totally transform the way that we go to market. Now, I'm here to tell you today that you can make all of those investments. You can transform everything on the back office, but when you turn around, your LOs might send emails that look like this. This is a real email that I received from a brand that's been around for over 150 years. Another idea that I've heard over the last couple of days is just the value of engendering trust amongst your customers to increase the value of that relationship over time. Does this look like an email that engenders any trust? In fact, this looks like an email that I would have immediately marked as spam, but I decided to use it for today's presentation, and this is where Open Sense comes in.
(01:58):
We help organizations take their email signatures, make them more beautiful, make them more compliant, and make them more engaging. Let me show you how. We're going to log into the Open Sense platform, which is generally managed by somebody within your organization and is going to allow for the centralized management of email signature branding across your entire organization, as well as the management of digital business cards for all of your employees. Here's the Designer Studio. I'm going to go ahead and click into one of our email signature templates. Now, one of the interesting things that we've learned over the years serving the mortgage industry is that email signatures in this space are far less like email signatures and more like mini webpages. LOs want to have their headshots included. They want to include "Apply Now" links, secure file uploads, and so on. Open Sense is a great partner to support that. All of the signatures that we create are completely bespoke and customized to ensure that your brand vision is met.
(03:00):
In reality, anytime someone hits send on an email, you can standardize any data in an email signature—not just names, titles, and headshots, but secure file uploads and NMLS numbers. We can source data from anywhere to ensure, again, that LOs have exactly what they want, compliance has exactly what they need, and that you're engendering that trust which results in downstream value. In addition to the primary email signature, you also have the ability to curate a lighter-weight reply signature template. This applies automatically on your replies and forwards. In an era where every loan is competitive, when your organization not only puts their best foot forward from a branding standpoint in their email communication, but can demonstrate this level of finesse and control throughout the duration of that email exchange, that subconsciously makes an impact that this team has it together. But email signatures aren't just about looking beautiful.
(03:54):
They're also about driving meaningful engagement. In fact, some numbers for you: every hundred employees in your company will send about a million emails a year. An email is going to be opened on average between two and three times, and when you embed a link or a banner beneath an email signature, believe it or not, between 4% and 7% of your recipients are actually going to click through on that piece of content. So let me get you over into our campaign section over here. I've heard a lot about how customer insights are allowing us to drive more meaningful engagement. Well, the beauty of Open Sense is that we are integration-rich. Whether your customer data resides in Salesforce, CRM, Total Expert, or frankly any system in between, we can utilize that data to drive personalized and targeted experiences before your LOs' emails. That means a recipient who's currently in the application process might see an offer that's relevant to them, whereas your existing client might see something completely different. It's not just about vanity; it's not just to look pretty.
(04:56):
You'll notice here that this is real production data for Open Sense. We see deliveries, views, clicks, and our click-through rates. You have the ability to schedule your content, and you even have the ability to measure down to the individual recipient who's engaging. As we look to diversify revenue streams, we're all sellers at the end of the day. If we're putting offers in our email signatures and we're getting notified that a prospect is engaging, how many of us are going to pick up the phone and make a phone call? I know I will if I'm trying to hit some numbers before we transition into Outlook. I'll actually demonstrate what this looks like from a user experience standpoint. Another aspect of what Open Sense is providing large and disparate organizations is the ability to manage digital business cards.
(05:43):
That same contact information that you're managing within your email signatures is often the information you'll want to exchange at an event like this one. We all carry that stack of business cards in our back pocket. I know I have a handful that are going to end up—my wife performs spring cleaning all four seasons—so who knows where they'll end up at the end of this conference. But the point is that there's a much more modern and streamlined way of sharing that information, which I'll demonstrate for you here in just a moment as well. So let's see what this looks like in practice. I'm going to pull over Outlook and I'm going to compose an email, and what you're going to notice is that beautiful signature is automatically inserted at my compose. Now, one challenge that large organizations often confront is, "Hey, I don't have a centralized source of truth for my secure file upload links or mobile numbers," or whatever the case might be, and we've thought about that.
(06:54):
If I pop open my Open Sense add-in over here, what you're going to notice is that there's a settings section where some of the data that's not centrally available to me—in this case, perhaps my mobile number—I can simply input here. I hit update once, and that dynamically updates my signature here in Outlook, Outlook Web Access, my mobile device, and even my digital business card. So I get an immense amount of value with just a single click. Downstream of that, my IT team can actually capture that data and update the directory accordingly. So without further ado, let me also pull over my digital business card over here. If I wanted each of you to have my contact information, one of the things that I would do is run around here trying to leave my business card at each one of your tables. Instead, to demonstrate the value of this, I'm just going to go ahead and pop this open. These are all centrally designed as well. The same data that's showing up in your email signatures is now available in your digital business card. At an event like this, imagine the power of just popping open your digital business card when you're exchanging information and throwing up your QR code. I'd encourage you all to do this if you have your phones handy: go ahead and scan this and see what happens. It automatically creates that contact and that vCard that you can then hold onto, and we can continue our conversation about Open Sense in the future. I'm Bobby Narang with Open Sense. Sincerely appreciate the opportunity to present with you all today. Appreciate your attention. Thank you.
