Ditech Financial Names New President

Walter Investment Management Corp. in Tampa, Fla., has named David Schneider as president of servicing and originations at Ditech Financial.

The new appointment is effective immediately, the company said in a Monday press release.

Schneider previously served as president of Ditech's servicing division alone. He takes over responsibility for the originations segment following the departure of Patricia Cook.

The company did not specify the reason behind Cook's departure, but said in the release that it wanted to combine the positions.

"As the mortgage industry and our business continue to evolve, we felt it was an important progression to unify Ditech's leadership," Walter Investment Chief Executive, President and Vice Chairman Denmar Dixon said in the release.

"[Schneider] has deep experience in both the servicing and originations sectors and will lead our efforts as we strive to deliver excellent service to our customers, drive a strong culture of compliance and improve efficiency across the business."

In January, Ditech announced that it would exit the distributed retail mortgage production channel.
