Ocwen to Sponsor Housing-Assistance Seminars

Ocwen Financial has partnered with several local organizations to sponsor seminars to help homeowners stay in their homes.

The Atlanta company will co-sponsor 10 events in various locations, starting this week. The events are designed to provide assistance to homeowners, through providing suggestions on mortgage modifications or other possible arrangements.

"Hardworking homeowners in many neighborhoods across the nation still feel the effects of the 2008 housing crisis," Jill Showell, senior vice president of government and community relations, said in an Aug. 20 news release.

"We aim to bring trusted advice to borrowers to help maintain the dream of owning a home," she said.

The events will also provide homeowners with access to financial counselors from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

The first two events are on Friday. One is scheduled for Aug. 21-25 in Ontario, Calif., co-sponsored with the Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America. The other is scheduled for Friday in the Bronx, co-sponsored by Neighborhood Housing Services of New York.

Other events are scheduled for later this fall in Brooklyn; Chicago; Wellington, Fla.; Milwaukee; Sacramento, Calif.; Miami; Uniondale, N.Y.; and Irvine, Calif.
