Former treasurer of Oklahoma City HOA charged with embezzlement

The former treasurer of an Oklahoma City homeowners association has been charged with eight felony counts of embezzlement.

Ralph Leslie Mann, 66, of Oklahoma City, is accused of stealing more than $160,000 from the Summit Place homeowners association. Police reported Mann admitted to the association president that he embezzled funds.

By phone Wednesday, Mann denied the allegations. He said he didn't know he'd been charged.

"I'm looking forward to the fight," he told The Oklahoman.

Mann was the treasurer from 2002 through April 2016, police reported. During that time, the association lost $162,249, according to the affidavit.

From 2007 to 2016, Mann wrote more than 70 checks to himself from the association's checking account, police reported in a court affidavit. The checks ranged from $142 to $17,800, according to the affidavit.

Mann was charged Friday in Oklahoma County District Court. A warrant for his arrest was issued Tuesday. Once arrested, bail will be set at $100,000, records show.

Summit Place is a residential neighborhood in Oklahoma City.
