The Sarasota, Fla., office of Academy Mortgage recently hired away three loan officers from Prospect Mortgage, which is based in California.
All three LOs worked in the Sarasota office of Prospect. “We might be hiring one more Prospect LO,” said Academy Mortgage sales manager Joe Adamaitis.
Adamaitis, who is also president of the Gulf Coast Mortgage Bankers, noted that homes prices in the area are firming up. “Anything that is in the $300,000 range is getting multiple bids these days,” he said. “Things have really picked up. We’re starting to have an inventory problem.”
Academy, which is based in Sandy, Utah, has about eight offices in the state and employs at least 1,000 LOs nationwide.
The privately held firm is 30 years old and had one of its best months of the year in July when it funded $434 million of product.
