Compliance Connections Surpasses 20,000 Violations

Safeguard Properties’ Web-based portal Compliance Connections, which allows mortgage loan servicers and municipalities to communicate immediately when code issues arise, has surpassed processing 20,000 violations.

Over the last 15 months, the division has exceeded 300% growth and is now being utilized in 850 communities.

The top five states with registered municipalities using Compliance Connections include Florida with 113, Illinois with 86, California with, Texas with 76 and Ohio has 62. Notable cities utilizing the service include Phoenix, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Cleveland and Plano, Texas.

The Compliance Connectionsplatform provides loan servicers, code enforcement officers, and others involved in the code violation process a secure workflow management system to track and resolve code violations. The technology solution offers code enforcement officers the ability to communicate, upload documents, manage tasks, and review and update the status of code violations.

“When notices are posted, they are delivered electronically, eliminating the delays associated with mailed notices, saving time and money, and preserving the value and condition of real estate assets and the communities in which they are located,” said Michael Halpern, director of community initiatives for Valley View, Ohio-based Safeguard Properties.

Additional benefits the product provides servicers as well as code enforcement officials is instant notification of urgent issues relating to code violations, direct contact between municipalities and lien holders, reduced compliance costs and penalties, preservation of real estate value and a decrease in neighborhood blight.
