CRE Firm Hires Structured Finance Expert

Commercial real estate investment banking firm George Smith Partners has hired Eric Hamermesh as senior vice president, and director of business development.

In his new role, Hamermesh will work closely with David Rifkind, principal and managing director of the firm to underwrite, place and close business.

The new hire has 30 years of experience in business development and deal management with specific expertise in structured finance, arranging both debt and equity for complex real estate deals.

Hamermesh most recently held the position of principal and founder of Platinum Capital Advisors, Los Angeles. At Platinum, he underwrote and performed due diligence on distressed real estate portfolios.

He also placed millions of dollars worth of conventional, high yield and mezzanine debt as well as equity on behalf of banks, investment banks and pension funds.
