The national bank supervisor Thomas Curry has appointed Amy Friend to be the agency’s chief counsel, replacing Julie Williams.
Friend was an attorney at the
“She has been involved in financial services regulation and legislation for 20 years and she has an unparalleled knowledge of the Dodd-Frank Act (of 2010), which we are still in the process of implementing,” Curry said Monday.
Congress passed the DFA in July 2010 and Friend left the Banking Committee in January 2011 to become a managing director at Promontory Financial Group, a bank consulting firm founded by former comptroller Eugene Ludwig.
Last week, Promontory announced that Williams had joined the consulting firm as a managing director.
