FHA indemnification agreements have been running at an average rate of 1,282 each year for the last seven years, according to a Collingwood Group executive who spoke during a conference call Wednesday afternoon.

“Thousands of cases have been indemnified over the years with HUD collecting millions of dollars,” Karen Garner, a managing director at The Collingwood Group and a former HUD office director, told listeners to the call.
Even prior to a new final rule that could boost activity in this area, the FHA has been “extremely active in seeking indemnifications,” she said.
